Last June, neighbors and local officials dedicated a historical marker and statue designating the location of the Hilliard Golf Course, the first course for African Americans in the southwest.

The 6-foot-tall, 300 pound bronze golfer statue has gone missing. The artwork was cemented into the ground and secured with a chain.
